So-Rim Lee, "Bloodworks"
Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:48AM Today we draw blood
To mark down yesterday’s loss
Is the pact still intact amongst us
That we shall tell the truth
And nothing but the truth
Even though the world feeds on filth
And we die every day living
And walk on dirt cursing
Dainty dames shall not be dissed
Nor will the evil jesters
Nobody’s freed from the needles
The doomed legacy of being human
Beware of how the blood trickles down
The translucent tube into the cylinder
It’s almost cherry-black
It’s a rare beauty to be honest
Take it slow and breezy
Nobody said it is easy to be mortal.
